UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network EE-Net

About Us

Under the Royal patronage of His Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, Raja Muda of Selangor, the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) Sub-Regional Secretariat for Southeast Asia is hosted in Malaysia under the stewardship of the Asia Institute of Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, and Diplomacy (AiSED). His Highness’s commitment underscores the critical role of entrepreneurship in driving equitable growth and regional unity.
The Asia Institute of Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Diplomacy (AiSED) is registered with the Malaysian Registrar of Societies (ROS) as a non-government organization. Blending NGO principles with social enterprise innovation, AiSED coordinates regional UNESCO EE-Net programs, advocates for policy reform, and empowers communities through education. Our mission is to bridge sustainability, entrepreneurship, and diplomacy, ensuring scalable impact in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.

Establishment of the UNESCO EE-Net Southeast Asia: Our Mandate
The establishment of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) Southeast Asia Sub-Regional Secretariat is a direct outcome of the 10th UNESCO Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (APEID) Meeting held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on October 10-11, 2024. The outcome document from this meeting emphasized the necessity of creating sub-regional networks for entrepreneurship education to enhance collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

In response to this call for action, representatives from national chapters of the UNESCO EE-Net in Southeast Asia—including Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia—reached a consensus to establish the Secretariat. This initiative aims to coordinate efforts in promoting entrepreneurship education across the region, aligning educational practices with sustainable development goals, and addressing real-world challenges faced by youth and communities. By fostering collaboration and sharing best practices, the Secretariat plays a crucial role in empowering individuals and driving economic growth throughout Southeast Asia.
